What PE-DESIGN 11 costs

Brother’s own product page does not show a price. One authorized US retailer, The Sewing Machine Shop, listed PE-DESIGN 11 at $1,957.99 when we checked in September 2026, and its listing notes that software sales are non-refundable once opened. Prices vary by dealer and change often, so confirm with an authorized Brother dealer before you buy.

System requirements

According to Brother's system requirements page, PE-DESIGN 11 supports Windows 10 and 11, plus Windows 7 and 8.1 in 32-bit or 64-bit. You need at least 1 GB of RAM, 600 MB of free disk space and an XGA (1024 x 768) display with 16-bit color or better. Brother adds that version 11.22 or later also runs on Surface Pro (ARM) devices. The page does not mention macOS, so treat PE-DESIGN 11 as Windows-only. Mac users should look at Artspira on a tablet or a Mac-compatible third-party program instead.

Artspira: Brother’s Mobile Design App

Artspira runs on a phone or tablet and is the easiest way into Brother embroidery. According to Brother's Artspira and Artspira+ FAQ, the free version includes 1,500 embroidery, cutting and printing designs, basic editing and embroidery drawing tools, an AR preview, unlimited design transfers and a monthly digital magazine. Free users can keep up to 20 items in My Creations.

The paid Artspira+ plan adds photo digitizing and cross-stitching tools, seven AI treatments plus an AI Font Decorator, portrait conversion, an advanced drawing tool, commercial-use designs and storage for up to 100 items. Brother lists it at $12.99 per month or $119.99 per year, and the annual plan is locked for 12 months with no refunds.

Two limits matter. Artspira is cloud-based and Brother states that designs cannot be downloaded, so you cannot keep a portable copy of every file. Its digitizing tools also work best on simple artwork, not detailed commercial logos.

BEaaS Name Designer: Cloud Lettering for Businesses

BEaaS Name Designer is a browser-based tool that turns typed text into embroidery data, so nothing needs to be installed. According to Brother's BEaaS page, it is built for shops that personalize items with names, such as uniforms, bags and promotional gear, and it outputs PES files for Brother machines. It offers 124 built-in fonts, 24 thread colors and a 3D preview so customers can approve the look before stitching.

It is not a digitizing program. You cannot import a logo and convert it, so it suits name-drop and monogram work only. Many readers search for it by name, which is why it gets its own section here.

Other Brother Software Worth Knowing About

Older Brother versions such as PE-DESIGN 10 and PE-DESIGN NEXT (version 9.x) still have download pages on Brother’s support site, which is why they show up in search results. If you own an older license and your projects still run, you do not need to upgrade just because a newer number exists.
